Last week, Logi Analytics' flagship product, Logi Info, was named an SIIA Software CODiE Award finalist for Best Business Intelligence/Analytics Solution. This is the first time Logi Analytics-Logi Info has been named a CODiE finalist.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 27 years. The awards have more than 75 categories and are organized by industry focus of Content, Education and Software. This year there were 27 software categories, including 12 new and updated categories that reflect the continued growth and evolution of cloud computing, mobile, big data, and video.

We are very excited to announce that today, LogiXML, officially became, Logi Analytics.

To most people, this change was long overdue. Looking back to 2000 when the company was founded, the name “LogiXML” was based on how our product worked. LOGIC needed to be defined in XML format using our product’s elements. Then our engine interprets the defined logic and delivers the app in the browser. Advancements in Web architectures and their associated data complexities continue to push our technologies beyond our XML-based roots and into modern, flexible, and extensible paradigms.

When I work with software companies that are considering adding BI capabilities to their portfolio, they are typically deciding between one of three approaches:

  • Resell/Refer
  • Bolt-On
  • Embedded 

While the first two approaches (resell/refer & Bolt-on) may seem like an easy way to address a need, these approaches typically lead to high dissatisfaction.

The resell / refer model is the least integrated, and not dissimilar from simply adding the ability to “export” data from the system.  An ISV will choose a vendor, make sure it works reasonably well with the product, and
