Church of the Nazarene Able to Track Donations Globally with Logi Analytics
Today, five regional Church of the Nazarene offices and more than 25 field teams worldwide use Logi Info to create dashboards and reports and access data from the Global Ministry Center.
Organized in 1908, the Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church. Its 2.3 million members worship at 29,000 local congregations worldwide, and its 700 missionaries serve 159 world areas. Its global mission is to assist the local church in building relationships with prospective members.
Because the Church of the Nazarene has missionaries serving around the world, they needed a way for each individual to access real-time information on the finances available to them as well as the status of their teams and projects. Though the church’s home office already had such a system in place, members found it overly complex and inadequate for meeting their multi-functional needs.
Kevin Brunk, Administrative Director of Global Mission Finance, explained, “It was very difficult to find an off-the-shelf product that was web-based, multi-lingual, multi-currency, and had the capacity to be more than an accounting system. We needed a financial management and donor management tool all rolled into one.”
Using Logi, we’ve been able to have one server that’s being utilized by several hundred people on a regular basis. There’s no way we could have rolled the commercial accounting system we use in our Global Ministry Center out to those levels.
The Church of the Nazarene began working with Logi Analytics in 2006. They selected Logi because it was web-based, relatively easy to implement, and enabled them to get reports out quickly.
Over the past decade, the church has worked with Logi to refine the solution and add new features, like procedural elements and graphing. Today, five regional Church of the Nazarene offices and more than 25 field teams worldwide use Logi Info to create dashboards and reports and access data from the Global Ministry Center in Kansas.
The Church of the Nazarene continues to bring new field offices into Logi Info, and they are even receiving requests for access from individual churches who want the ability to analyze funding and donor data. In the future, they plan to add more dashboards and increase system bandwidth and processing speeds.
Mr. Brunk said, “We’re at a point where we want to do more than just basic accounting reports. Our members want to drill deeper into charts and graphs and track what we are actually doing long-term.”
Not only has Logi Info been valuable for data access and analysis, it has helped the church to reduce costs, as well.
“Using Logi, we’ve been able to have one server that’s being utilized by several hundred people on a regular basis,” Mr. Brunk concluded. “There’s no way we could have rolled the commercial accounting system we use in our Global Ministry Center out to those levels. And the more people we get on the Logi system, the better it is for us.”
