Signeture Solutions Offers Self-Service Data Analysis with the Help of Logi Analytics
By integrating Logi Info into its data analysis application, Signeture customers are able to perform all the traditional analytical processes without asking IT for assistance, and can make their own discoveries from the data.
Signeture Solutions is a business intelligence (BI) consultancy and development firm located in the United Kingdom. The company helps customers throughout the entire BI project lifecycle, including creating a strategy, managing resources, and training users. Over the past five years, Signeture has also focused on helping its customers develop data analytics applications.
Signeture Solutions had developed its own strong data analysis application. However, this software was desktop-based, and they soon realized they needed a web-based solution to appeal to their customers and satisfy requirements for IT governance. They determined that developing this new solution would require substantial resources and cost.
“I had considered building a full solution myself, but realized that would be very time-consuming,” said Barry Nicolaou, founder and CEO of Signeture Solutions. “From my years of BI experience, I knew a heavy platform like Cognos would create too much overhead, and some lightweight solutions, like QlikView, would not embed easily into what I was building; that led me to Logi Analytics.”

Signeture looked at several BI solutions before deciding on Logi’s rapid development platform, Logi Info. They chose Info because it would allow them to quickly and easily integrate web-based dashboard reporting into their current data analysis system.
The resulting analytics solution, which Mr. Nicolaou describes as “the best of the approaches,” provides an intuitive way for Signeture’s business user customers to develop dashboards and perform deep data analysis on the fly.
Logi has helped Signeture create a more competitive product, which Mr. Nicolaou believes will allow them to attract new customers and boost sales. He sees the biggest benefit in Info’s self-service BI capabilities, which are incredibly intuitive and accessible to business users from anywhere via the web.
For the first time, Signeture customers are able to perform all the traditional BI processes – drilling down, user-based calculations, categorizations, filtering, and more – without asking IT for assistance. And they’ll immediately be able to make their own discoveries and see visual connections between the data.
“Many of my customers are business decision makers, and they don’t want to have to wait a week for IT to give them a specific chart or calculation,” Mr. Nicolaou explained. “IT will always have its place for installation and maintenance. But now, IT can simply provide all the information to business users and allow them to make decisions independently based on what they see in the data.”
In addition to data discovery for customers, Signeture is using Logi Info internally to assist in data cleansing. This involves loading in millions of data records, analyzing them for discrepancies and errors, and then feeding the cleansed data back into the data warehouse via IT.
