Earlier this week, Microsoft announced the limited public preview of the Azure SQL Data Warehouse, which was first announced at the Microsoft Build conference in April.

The Azure SQL Data Warehouse expands upon SQL Server, augmenting it with the parallel processing architecture of the Analytics Platform System (APS), which allows the SQL Data Warehouse service to scale across large datasets. Microsoft has coined this new offering as an ‘elastic data warehouse-as-a-service.’

Logi Analytics is pleased to be one of the first BI partners to certify on the Azure SQL Data Warehouse. “Many of our customers currently run on SQL Server, and with the integration of the new Azure SQL Data Warehouse with the Logi Info BI platform, users will have more options than ever for storing and quickly accessing data in the cloud for analysis and reporting,” said David Abramson, Director of Product Management at Logi Analytics.

With Logi Info, technology professionals can quickly create and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics for any number of users, getting up to speed and up and running in days, not months. Logi Info offers Microsoft customers a comprehensive analytics platform to connect, visualize, analyze and act on very large sets of data.

The big data environment continues to grow more complex as the volume, variety and velocity of data increases. It’s a challenge to know how to appropriately use new data repositories to improve business performance, especially when you want to analyze data in as close to real time as possible. As customers debate their choices, Logi Info continues to expand its big data connections so businesses can quickly create analytics, data visualizations, interactive dashboards and reports from all their data sources. In addition to the latest Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Logi Info also integrates with numerous analytical and Hadoop data stores, including HP Haven, Amazon RDS and Redshift, Hortonworks, Cloudera, Teradata and more.

“More and more applications are being built in the cloud. Couple that with the increase in cloud-born data, and you see a strong customer demand for a cloud-based data warehouse solution to manage large volumes of structured data and to process this data for fast analytics.  Customers also want to take advantage of the cost-efficiencies, elasticity and hyper-scale of cloud for their large data warehouses,” said Tiffany Wissner, Senior Director of Microsoft Data Platform Marketing. “We’re excited about the collaboration with Logi Analytics that will enable our customers to quickly analyze their Azure data, born either in the cloud or on-premises, and share insights across their team.”
