McLean, Virginia – April 23, 2013 – Logi Analytics, the authority on embedded analytics, today announced that Dataforce, the leading market research firm in the German automotive fleet market, embedded Logi Info analytics into its online automotive analysis system, IRIS®, delivering greater access to intelligence and increased functionality to end users.
IRIS® is used to track automotive information such as registration statistics, change of ownership of used cars, and survey results. Previously, it was hard for end users to obtain business intelligence from IRIS®, which is OLAP-based. Rather than getting the information they needed directly, users had to rely on analysts to run queries and then present the information. Dataforce wanted to enhance the utility for IRIS® users by providing greater access and ease of use; they wanted to provide managers with dashboards and reports so they could get fast overviews of the market and KPIs without needing intermediate steps. Having a limited development staff, Dataforce required a solution with a low learning curve that would adapt to future growth and allow changes such as the inclusion of sales data, or even enable customers to set their own targets. Additionally, they wanted calculations in real time, rather than reporting on batches of pre-calculated tables or using cube technology.
“Initially, we tried several technologies including Cognos and Microstrategy, but found them too complex. Logi Info was the only product supporting our lean BI thinking and requirements,” stated Guido Niermann, Director IT, Dataforce. “In addition to being easy to learn and manage, Logi Info has an open architecture that provides the flexibility to make adaptations such as including other chart libraries. Logi Analytics also offered a licensing model that worked for our business.”
In just 90 days, a Dataforce team of two developers working part-time with Logi Info built a wide variety of dashboards and reports for IRIS® users who can now view critical KPIs on-demand. Dataforce was also able to connect other chart libraries to Logi Info to expand options for visualizations. This new functionality not only improved IRIS® performance, it also gave Dataforce a competitive advantage in automotive intelligence by eliminating the constant need for expert analysts.
“An increasing number of companies choose to embed Logi Analytics into their applications in order to transform the range, flexibility, and proficiency of their reporting and analysis capabilities – at a fraction of the development cost and time,” said Brett Jackson, CEO, Logi Analytics. “In this way, Logi Info acts as an extension of a company’s development team, and helps speed to market their future innovations.”
Logi Analytics technologies allow companies like Dataforce to embed dashboards, reports, and analytics into products and services quickly, easily, and in a way that preserves their brand and user experience. Logi Info’s agile, elemental design approach and 100 percent web-based architecture enables software and SaaS providers to dramatically reduce the development and integration time needed to create and implement these advanced features. In addition, Logi Analytics’ platform lets them customize the look and feel of their analytics, deliver self-service reporting to end users, provide role-based uses and permissions, integrate into their existing security model, and support multi-tenant implementations.
This year, Logi Analytics was moved to the “challengers” quadrant of the 2013 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms report in only its third year in the research. The company’s position was based on its ability to execute and completeness of vision as it continues to deliver on its value proposition of ease-of-use, rapid time to deployment, and embeddability.
