Muddy Boots Implements Logi Analytics for Quality Assurance and Compliance in the Food Supply Chain

Logi Analytics brings real-time decision making to Muddy Boots' global customers

McLean, Va. – August 14, 2014 – Logi Analytics, the analytics everywhere company, today announced that Muddy Boots, the leading supplier of Web- and mobile-based software systems to retail and agri-service organisations, has implemented the Logi Info business information platform to enhance quality assurance and compliance reporting capabilities for food business.

Founded in 1996, Muddy Boots now has over 2,000 customers around the world, including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and Unilever, which use its systems to manage and maintain quality assurance and compliance throughout the food supply chain.

Visibility and traceability are key to Muddy Boots’ customers. Fruit and vegetables destined for UK supermarkets are grown all over the world, and quality assurance and food compliance are of paramount importance to retailers. Jeremy Pile, technical director, Muddy Boots explained his decision to implement Logi Info: “We reviewed the software available and shortlisted five vendors. It was Logi Analytics that demonstrated it could work with us to enhance our product, and our technical team really liked the technology and the way it worked. A key factor in our decision to select Logi Analytics was being able to see how our customers could use Logi Info to drive performance.”

One of the challenges Muddy Boots helps its customers to handle is spotting and communicating an issue through the business so that the relevant people can take necessary action – quickly and efficiently. With Logi Info, performance analysis information is provided through customisable data dashboards, specific issues can be identified in real-time and remedial action can be swiftly taken. Pile continued: “Retailers are dealing with thousands of lines of products every day and the Logi dashboard from Muddy Boots allows managers to see what the issues are, using a scorecard and even word clouds that are in tune with their performance criteria, which gives a great early warning system. Having this information available in real time saves retailers time, hassle and cost in managing products.”

Hugh Mowat, head of quality – produce and flowers, Morrisons explained: “Traceability, quality assurance and compliance is paramount for the products destined for our shelves. Muddy Boots’ dashboard capability, powered by Logi, gives teams a real-time view of the performance of our supply base. We can now view site, supplier and product performance in one place, which has enabled us to drive significant efficiencies through waste reductions, and identify and mitigate risk from our supply chain.”

Simon Ryan, director of EMEA, Logi Analytics said: “We are delighted to be working with Muddy Boots to provide retailers like Morrisons with such crucial intelligence capabilities, to drive efficiencies and improve the supply chain. Companies like Muddy Boots and its retail customers appreciate Logi Info’s ease of use and the value of the insights it makes available through intuitive dashboards. We look forward to working with Muddy Boots to help its retail customers maximise the benefits of analytics.”
